Between 3:16pm and 7:38pm PT today, the OpenAI API, ChatGPT, and Sora were unavailable. We’re now fully operational and API requests are processing normally. I understand the impact this must have had for you, and on behalf of OpenAI, I’m very sorry for the trouble.

In short, a configuration change was made that caused many of our servers to become unavailable. Over the next few days, we’ll be doing a thorough investigation into what exactly happened, and will take measures to help prevent a similar issue from occurring again. We’ll publish the results on our status page.
